These terms cover the Forkbell app and the forkbell.app website, including the waitlist. By using either, you agree to them. Forkbell is made by Gajendra Singh Rathore ("we"). How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.
Who can use Forkbell
You must be 16 or over. You need an Apple or Google account to sign in, and you are responsible for what happens under your Forkbell account.
What Forkbell is, and isn't
Forkbell helps you log food, workouts and body weight and see them against daily targets. It provides nutrition and training information for general purposes.
It is not medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it does not replace a doctor, dietitian or other qualified professional. Talk to one before changing how you eat or train if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have or have had an eating disorder, have diabetes, a heart condition or any other medical condition, or take medication that affects appetite or weight. If logging food starts to feel stressful, gentle mode hides the numbers, and it is fine to stop.
The numbers are estimates. Daily targets come from standard formulas applied to the answers you give. Calorie and nutrient figures come from published food databases (such as USDA FoodData Central and the UK's CoFID), from Forkbell's own recipes, and from your own entries. They carry the uncertainty those sources have, and portions are rarely exact.
Type a meal uses AI. When you type a meal, an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) splits your words into foods and portions, and we match those to our food database. It can misread a meal or pick the wrong match. Check what it adds, and change or delete anything that is wrong.
Price
The app is free to use. If we later add a paid plan, we will say clearly what it includes and what it costs before you are asked to pay, and anything you have logged will stay yours either way. Paid plans, if any, will be bought and managed through the App Store under Apple's terms.
Your content
What you log is yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Forkbell for you, as described in the privacy policy. You can delete any entry, or your whole account, from inside the app.
Using it fairly
Don't try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the app or the site, get around the daily limit on Type a meal, scrape the food database or the waitlist, use automated tools to create accounts or signups, or sign up on behalf of people who haven't asked you to. We may limit or close an account that does.
The waitlist
Joining the waitlist reserves a place in the order invites are sent. It does not guarantee access by a particular date. We may change the launch timeline, the features described on the site, or the order in which invites go out, and we will tell the list when we do.
Referral positions are a courtesy. We remove credit for referrals that come from disposable addresses, self-referrals, or automated signups.
Changes to Forkbell
Forkbell is new and will change: features will be added, changed or removed. We may suspend or stop the service; if we decide to stop it, we will give at least thirty days' notice in the app so you can take your data with you.
Ending
You can stop using Forkbell and delete your account at any time from You → Delete account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
Content and trademarks
The Forkbell name, mark, app and site content belong to the maker of Forkbell. Blog posts may be quoted with a link back. Food data from USDA FoodData Central is in the public domain; data from the UK's Composition of Foods Integrated Dataset is used under the Open Government Licence.
Liability
Forkbell is provided as is. We work to keep it accurate and available but do not promise it will be error-free or always on. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from using Forkbell or relying on its figures. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Apple
If you use the app on an Apple device, these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where it conflicts with these terms, these terms apply to the extent permitted.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts of Karnataka, India.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect, and update the date at the top of this page.
