Privacy policy

Forkbell is made by Gajendra Singh Rathore. This page explains what we collect on forkbell.app, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist: your email address, the language you used the site in, and the referral code of the person who sent you, if any. We also store which link brought you here (the utm_* parameters), the page you landed on, the website you came from, a one-way hash of your IP address used only to stop abuse, and your browser's user-agent string.

If you answer the optional question: what you use to track food today, and anything you type about it.

If you ask to join the WhatsApp tester group: your WhatsApp number. It is used for that group only.

Analytics: if you allow analytics, we use PostHog to record page views and interactions such as joining the waitlist or opening a question. Until you choose, analytics runs without cookies and without an identifier that persists between visits.

If you log in: Supabase Auth stores your email and a session cookie so you stay logged in.

What we don't do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not send marketing on behalf of anyone else. We do not make health or medical claims, and nothing on this site is medical advice.

Why we collect it

To send you the waitlist emails you asked for, to invite you to the app in order, to understand which channels bring people here so we can spend time on the right ones, to stop spam signups, and to improve the site.

Who processes it

Supabase (database and authentication), Resend (email), PostHog (analytics), and Vercel (hosting). Each processes data on our instructions under their own terms.

Cookies

fb_consent remembers your analytics choice. fb_utm_first, fb_utm_last, fb_landing, fb_referrer and fb_ref remember how you arrived so a signup can be attributed. fb_wl remembers your waitlist entry so the welcome page works. PostHog sets its own cookie only after you allow analytics. Supabase sets session cookies only when you log in.

How long we keep it

Waitlist entries are kept until launch and for up to twelve months after, or until you ask us to delete yours. Analytics data is kept for twelve months. Server logs are kept for thirty days.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@forkbell.app and we will respond within thirty days. Unsubscribe from emails by replying "stop" or using the link in any email. If you are in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act gives you these rights and a right to raise a grievance; the same address is our grievance contact.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the next waitlist email and update the date at the top of this page.
